Color Coding and Topic Customization
We’re happy to introduce several new features that let you better customize the look-and-feel of the app and more easily organize your calendar. You can now customize the colors for calendar appointments and add colors and emoji symbols to Topics.
Color Coded Calendar Appointments
As you create calendar appointments, you can now choose the color the appointment should be displayed with on the calendar. After you add who and what the calendar appointment is for, you can then optionally choose which Family Member or Topic color the appointment should be displayed using. That color will be used for the border color in the Agenda view and background and foreground color in the One Day, Three Day, and Month views.
Appointments that appear on your calendar from Subscribed Calendars can also be color coded. As you’re subscribing to a new calendar, you can select what Family Member or Topic color all of the imported events should be displayed with in the calendar. This is a great way to visually associate all of those soccer games or school events imported from external calendars with the child or family member they’re for.
Topic Colors & Emojis
As you’ve already been able to do for Family Members, you can now assign colors to Topics. As you’re adding or editing Topics, you can choose from the same set of colors. If you create calendar appointments associated with a Topic, you’ll have the option to color code that appointment using the Topic color.
In addition to color coding, you can now also customize Topics by choosing an emoji for each. As you’re adding or editing Topics, you can choose an emoji to represent what that Topic is about. Similar to profile photos for Family Members, this is a great way to really make the app feel like your own.
More Color Options
With the ability to assign colors to both Family Members and Topics now, we’ve added additional color options. You can now choose from up to 16 colors.
Bug Fixes & Design Changes
You’ll notice several design changes throughout the app, particularly in the Settings section when adding and editing Family Members and Topics. We also fixed a bug that was truncating the “summary” field when viewing Health & Activity events.
